Important Archaeological Finds – Via del Tritone

An important archaeological find has been unearthed at Via del Tritone just off Via del Corso in the centre of Rome.  An entire Roman neighbourhood has been found by archaeologists ahead of major construction work to expand the premises of the Spanish shopping brand Zara ahead of the increased business around Christmas 2014.

The archaeological finds include a complex of ancient store houses, service buildings and residences decorated with mosaics, marble floors and their own spa facility.  There are now plans to preserve the ruins and make them visible to visitors beneath the new Zara store.
