FAQs

The Frequently Asked Questions about our Italian study abroad programs have been organised according to subject matter for your assistance namely:

Student Questions

Can students choose their own room-mates?
For those students who do participate with a friend or a sibling, you can request to room with a specific person (or persons), however we cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled as sometimes there are special circumstances that do not allow this accommodation. If two or more students wish to be room-mates they must write out their request and email it to admissions@eternalcityeducation.com before the start of the study abroad course program.

How are room-mates chosen?
ECE will make room-mate placements through an evaluation process using the telephone interview and the student applications as sources. We consider student personal interests and aspects of their personality profile as well. We also consider student requests. Students will only be placed with room-mates of the same gender and approximately the same grade level. Of course, in the end, it is meeting new people and sharing experiences which students of ECE should most look forward to.

Do I apply for scholarship before or after applying for a program?
Scholarship applications must be made before application for the course. If a student gets a scholarship he/she will be notified by email with a scholarship code. The student must enter the scholarship code when completing the final step of the course application process (payment step). The balance of payment due if not a full scholarship will then be displayed on Payment page. The cost of the course must be paid in full one month before start of the study abroad course program.

It is, however, very much our goal to be able to do so in the future. We look forward to working with the schools being attended by those students with such needs to determine the how to meet the diverse needs of these students and, ultimately, to help raise the money necessary so that they too will be able to participate in the Eternal City Education experience.
